Lailey Vineyard winemaker and business partner,
Derek Barnett, practices attentive, minimalist winemaking to
encourage the particular local expression of each grape variety in each
vintage. His interest in local character extends to his selection of oak
barrels: Barnett at Lailey Vineyard was the first winemaker in the world
to release a commercial wine aged in Canadian
oak.
